I am a licensed attorney in the State of Illinois since 1999, concentrating my practice in the defense of those accused of criminal offenses, particularly DUI. In that period of time I have established myself in the field of DUI defense both at the local and national level.. My office has successfully handled nearly 2,000 DUI files ranging from first offenses to felonies, obtaining acquittals/dismissals in cases involving serious accidents, breath/blood tests well in excess of the .08 statutory limit, drug duis, and/or standardized field sobriety tests.. My success is primarily a result of a commitment to excellence and top notch representation in the DUI field, as I regularly attend national/local seminars on the topic and keep abreast of the latest developments, trends and law changes in the field.. i am a member of the National College for DUI Defense (Illinois State Delegate, Impaired Driving Task Force), DUI Defense Lawyers of America, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and Illinois State Bar Association (Traffic Laws and Courts-Section Council) Furthermore, I have served as past chairman of the Chicago Bar Association Traffic Laws Committee, where I lectured on the topic. Additionally, I am part of the Editorial Advisory Board of the national publication "Innovative DUI Trial Tools" written by Joshua Dichter of Washington, one of the preeminent DUI practitioners in the country. Furthermore, I am also a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois, for whom I was a featured speaker at their Law Day event.. My office also takes matters to the appellate level, having won a reversal of a DUI conviction this past year in a case involving a breath test where the breath test operator was ultimately found not to have been appropriately licensed at the time of testing (People v Caraballo, 2019 IL App (1st) 171993).. Lastly, my office also helps motorists who have lost their driving privileges obtain reinstatement via the Secretary of State hearing process, having won over a dozen such reinstatements in the last year.
