Todd worked for the Social Justice Clinic at St. Mary University School of Law as a Student Attorney for one year. During that time, he represented clients in divorce, child custody, and won an appeal with Social Security. Following law school and the Texas Bar Exam, Todd worked in a law office focusing on guardianship, a litigation law firm, and helped build an estate planning firm to six attorneys with comparable support staff..
