I am Jeannine Broadnax, Esq. a native of Chicago, Illinois an experienced attorney and founder of Strategic Tax & Estate Planning Strategies (STEPS). My practice specializes in estate planning, probate, guardianship, and tax disputes. I am compassionate to the needs of my clients and readily able to assist families during difficult times.. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from College of the Holy Cross in 2001.  In 2007 I received my law degree, magna cum laude from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, TX . With a desire for more knowledge I returned to school and received with a Masters of Law (LLM) in Taxation and Estate Planning with honors from the John Marshall School of Law in Chicago, IL in 2013.. I started my legal career as a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney where I prosecuted criminals, protected victims rights, recommended appropriate services for families, and continuously worked for the best interest of the community.. After obtaining a Masters of Law (LLM) in Taxation and Estate Planning I transitioned to the Otis Law Group Ltd. focusing on estate planning, probate, and guardianship. There I drafted custom estate planning documents to suit the needs of individuals and families with a variety of assets; as well as advised fiduciaries on trust administration matters and successfully litigated will contests, removal of trustee, citation of assets, objections to accountings, as well as sought equitable remedies.. I am very involved in my community, including doing volunteer tax prep with AARP, providing mentorship with the Big Shoulders Fund, and preparing Wills for first responders with the Chicago Bar Association..
