Since 2018, Assistant District Attorney Gil Urfer has served as the Team Captain of the Delinquency Unit for the Milwaukee County DAs Office. The Unit’s mission is to promote a juvenile justice system that properly addresses the problem of juvenile crime.  To do this, the team focuses on protecting the community, imposing offender accountability and working to equip juvenile offenders with the treatment, support and skills to live responsibly and productively.. ADA Urfer began his career at Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren, sc, where he worked for several years as a commercial litigator. In 2005, ADA Urfer joined the Milwaukee County DAs Office for the first time. He served as an Assistant District Attorney for five years in a variety of assignments, including two years as the Team Captain of the Domestic Violence Unit.. In 2010, ADA Urfer left the DAs Office and joined Nistler Law Office, s.c. as a commercial litigator and defense attorney. In 2013, he founded the criminal defense firm, Adams Urfer, LLC with attorney Daniel Adams. ADA Urfer then returned to the DAs Office in 2017.. ADA Urfer has significant civil and criminal trial experience. He has lectured nationally in the areas of criminal investigation and trial preparation. He also authored the opening chapter of the Wisconsin Domestic Violence Prosecutor’s Handbook.. ADA Urfer graduated magna cum laude from Marquette University Law School in 2002 after obtaining his Bachelor's degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1998.
