Doug Mahoney has been representing those who are injured for more than 28 years.    Most of his clients are referred to him by former clients or by attorneys who trust him to represent their clients with their personal injury needs.   Although he represents people who have been injured in many different ways, he has a special interest in representing people who were sexually abused as children.. Doug is a trial lawyer with many jury verdicts.   Some examples would include achieving a $2.75 million dollar jury verdict for a man who was sexually abused by a pediatric endocrinologist decades earlier.   In affirming the verdict, the Connecticut Supreme Court recognized for the first time the duty of an institution to protect a child in its care from sexual abuse.. In John Doe v. Boys and Girls Village, Doug and his partner Cindy Robinson achielved a $1.25 million jury verdict for their client who had been sexually abused by his teacher.  Doug and Cindy brought the case against the boy's mental health care provider who despite having reason to know about the abuse, failed to report it to authorites allowing it to continue on.. In Blackwell v. Town of Seymour, Doug served as lead counsel in a case involving a drunk driver resulting in three deaths and an amputation.    The jury returned a verdict totalling over $16 million dollars for the four men with over $6 million of the verdict against the Town of Seymour for the failure of its off duty police officer to stop the drunk driver.. Doug is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and an Advocate in the American Board of Trial Advocacy.  He is listed in Best Lawyers in America in the field of personal injury.   He is a Past President of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.  He has been board certified in civil trial practice for 20 years..
