Prior to joining us, Sawyer was a litigation and employment associate first at Witherspoon Kelley Davenport & Toole P.S. and then at Hawley Troxell Ennis & Hawley, LLP. Sawyer also previously worked as a law clerk for Judge Tracey Wollenberg on the Alaska Court of Appeals.. Sawyer earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Gonzaga University and his law degree from the University of Washington School of Law, where he graduated within the top third of his class and was a member of both the Moot Court Honor Board and the Washington Journal of Environmental Law and Policy. During law school, Sawyer worked as an extern for Judge Edward F. Shea in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington and Judge John C. Coughenour in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. Sawyer has also worked as a Rule 9 intern at the Snohomish County Public Defender Association..
