John was an adjunct professor of law teaching a course in workers’ compensation at Suffolk University Law School in Boston from 1999 through 2011.. Attorney Hislop has been chosen by his peers to be included in the Best Lawyers in America every year since 1995 and for the last seven consecutive years, he has been a member of Super Lawyers. John received the 2003 MATA Presidents Award for dedication to the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys. He also has lectured and authored for the Massachusetts Bar Association, and he published many chapters for MCLE publications, including chapters on benefits under the workers’ compensation system.. Attorney Hislop also created a primer for the Massachusetts Bar Association concerning factors to be considered when settling a case at the Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents.Attorney Hislop has been a long-time member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys and is a past member of the Board of Governors and former chairman of the section on workers’ compensation.. Before joining Keches Law Group, Attorney Hislop was the founding partner of the law firm of Hislop, Carney and Troupe and for the past 21 years, he has been a sole practitioner in Boston handling workers’ compensation cases as well as SSDIB and ADR cases.. Attorney Hislop was honored in 1998 in a cover story in Lawyers Weekly when he settled a workers’ compensation case for $1,950,. At the time, it was believed to be the largest workers’ compensation settlement in the history of Massachusetts workers’ compensation law.
