As a law student, she helped enforce anti-discrimination laws with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, assisted in excessive force cases against the Los Angeles Police Department, and served indigent clients with housing and employment matters at California Rural Legal Assistance. She also externed with the Honorable Harry Pregerson at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.. At Loyola Law School, she was Co-President of Loyola’s Environmental Law Society. In addition, she led the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (“IACHR”) Project as Chief Editor for Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review. Under her leadership, the IACHR Project launched the first-ever database and journal covering decisions rendered by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. She has published several articles on human rights abuses against women, indigenous communities, and people of color.. Ms. Cossart-Daly graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She has lived with type 1 diabetes for over thirty years.
