During law school, Matt was one of only a few law students selected to the University of Memphis law review and the Moot Court Board.  Matt also received the Glencoe McGraw-Hill Award for the most outstanding graduate paper in the nation, and he was inducted as a pupil into the American Inns of Court.  Matt was recruited to Montgomery County by the law firm of Batson, Nolan, Harvey & Williamson.  Matt practiced as an associate for four years and then became a name partner in the firm with the firm's name ultimately becoming Batson, Nolan,PLC.   Today Matt is lead counsel and helps oversee Batson, Nolan's litigation sections in the areas of insurance defense, perosnal injury, and surrogacy..
