I opened my law practice in the Austin area in 2008, shortly after moving from Chicago. My practice focuses on family law. My varied background helps me to listen to, educate and advise clients beginning with the initial consultation. I help my clients work through difficult issues to devise solutions and advocate for plans that are in the client’s best interests. I maintain an edge for my clients through continuing legal education. I am an alumnus of the University of Illinois and graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law with honors. I come to law with a background in education and international human resources, and am a fluent French speaker. Prior to moving to Texas, I practiced family, criminal and civil litigation with the Chicago law firm of Ariano, Hardy, Nyuli, Johnson, Richmond, and Goettel, P.C. Josie also clerked for U.S. District Court Judge Philip G. Reinhard, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, Explosives, and Arson, the Office of the Illinois State Appellate Defender, and the Office of the Kane County State’s Attorney.
