Besides my background in business law and tax law, I have also worked as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), which gives me unique insight into the various ways in which legal, tax, accounting, and business strategies blend together to create the best decisions within your organization.. With this perspective in mind, I have reviewed, evaluated, advised, and counseled more than 300 small business owners on strategic plans, negotiations, expanding through acquisitions, and ultimately with the sale of their business.  I have been a practicing attorney since 1985 and became a member of the Texas Bar in 2011 in addition to my bar memberships in New York and Ohio.  Prior to re-entering private practice, I directed acquisitions and joint venture activities for twenty years with a number of well established companies including the public companies of US Oncology Inc., HealthSouth Corporation, Omnicare Inc. and the Loewen Group, Inc.  I began my professional career with Sidley Austin in New York City and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Columbus, Ohio.. My practices focuses on the practical side of business transactional law and how small and medium size closely-held and family owned businesses can best protect and leverage their value as they grow throughout their business life cycle.
