About Matthew Guthrie
I am a dedicated community servant committed to providing affordable, quality and one-on-one legal service to my cleints. I use my years of experience from both military and community service to partner with my clients and help them through some of the most difficult times in their lives. I focus my practice in family law matters, such as divorce, child custody, child support, contempt proceedings, and all other family law matters, here in Lake County, and throughout the Chicago area.. I joined the Law Offices of David Kerpel in February, 2021. I was originally licensed to Practice law in 2014 and am currently licensed in Illinois, Texas, and South Carolina. Prior to joining the Law Offices of David Kerpel I was an attorney with the North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic and worked almost exclusivley with Survivors of Domestic violence. Prior to that I was a Judge Advocate with the United States Marine Corps, where I helped my military cleints with Estate Planning, Divorce, Consumer law, Landlord Tenant issues, and matters concerning Military Justice.
