My practice focuses on general business with a concentration in corporate finance, venture capital, securities, debtor-creditor issues, executive compensation, and technology licensing. I have experience dealing in franchising, asset securitization, private placement of securities, securities registrations and '34 Act reporting for public companies, reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, business formations and shareholder dispute resolution. Prior to entering private practice, I served a two year clerkship with the Honorable John L. Coffey of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. I have also served as an adjunct professor at Seattle University Law School teaching mergers and acquisitions.. Exceptional client service requires equipping clients with the key information necessary to make informed business decisions. Providing clients with the information to make wise business decisions requires understanding the nature of their problems and the factors that impact the range of solutions.  Once these aspects are understood, the best solution often becomes apparent.  I view all client relationships as a twenty year connection, even if the initial matter may only require a few hours of time.  Based upon this philosophy, I take the time to understand the business of each client up front.  Over time, as I and our firm are tasked to handle additional client matters, we get to learn more about our clients and their businesses, which helps us better deliver legal services tailored to their needs.
