Mr. Hebert is currently admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Lafayette Parish Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association and the Louisiana and American Associations for Justice.. Mr. Hebert has a practice that serves local, regional, national and international clients, and encompasses a broad range of financial, corporate, commercial, real estate and business law transactions and litigation. He is a member of the National Association of Dealer Counsel, the Acadiana Mortgage Lenders’ Association, the Louisiana Mortgage Lenders’ Association, the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, the Realtors’ Association of Acadiana, the Acadiana Homebuilders’ Association, the Louisiana Land Title Association, and the Louisiana Bankers Association.. Mr. Hebert is a licensed title insurance producer for the State of Louisiana and for four major title insurance underwriters including Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company, Stewart Title Insurance Company and First American Title Insurance Company.. Mr. Hebert was one of several common benefit counsel in the matter entitled In Re: MDL 2179 Oil Spill by the Oil Rig (Deepwater Horizon) and represented hundreds of individual claimants and businesses in the handling of their real estate and business economic loss claims. In the past, he also successfully represented over one hundred individuals and businesses in a mass tort train derailment, chemical exposure and evacuation case.. Since 2016, a significant portion of Mr. Hebert’s practice has involved the representation of one of the fastest growing automotive groups in the southern United States, Southern United Auto Group (), which was established by the partnership of Matthew Bowers of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Franklin McLarty, originally of Little Rock, Arkansas. Due to such representation, Mr. Hebert has handled, as lead counsel for Southern United Auto Group, the formation and structuring of numerous legal entities, the asset acquisitions of existing, and the formation of new, automotive dealerships in the states of Louisiana, Alabama and Tennessee, the acquisition of various pieces of real estate, representation before motor vehicle commissions and taxing authorities, negotiations and dealings with major automotive manufacturers and lenders, and overall general counseling for the key principals and various entities comprising Southern United Auto Group, which includes Matt Bowers Chevrolet, Matt Bowers Nissan of New Orleans, Matt Bowers Nissan Eastern Shore, Matt Bowers Ford, Boro Nissan, Boro Mitsubishi and Great Southern Acceptance, a full-service automotive financing company.. Mr. Hebert is also on retainer for and serves in an outside general counsel capacity for small to mid-sized real estate development, construction and brokerage companies advising them on matters including contract negotiations, insurance, Private and Public Works Act issues, project financing, real estate closings, deal structuring, representation before municipal commissions and boards, representation before the Louisiana Contractors’ Licensing Board and the Louisiana Real Estate Commission, and construction and other related litigation.
