Montgomery opened the doors of The Montgomery Law Firm, PLLC in January of2009 with the primary purpose of providing legal solutions and support to thesmall business community.  After spendingalmost 20 years as a corporate attorney for various large companies in Northand South Carolina, he seeks to provide the same type of sound legal advice andcounsel to individuals and companies in the greater Charlotte community. Otherareas of focus will be employment law and estate planning.. He previouslyserved as an Assistant General Counsel for Bank of America, SCANA Services,Inc. and Flagstar Corporation (Denny’s). His legal career began with the law firm of Plunkett & Cooney, P.C.in Detroit, Michigan.. A native ofCharlotte, NC, Montgomery graduated from West Charlotte Senior High.  He attended North Carolina Central Universityin Durham, North Carolina, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of ArtsDegree in Political Science.  He obtainedhis Juris Doctor Degree from Marquette University Law School.. Montgomery isa member of the State Bar of Michigan, the North Carolina State Bar, the StateBar of Wisconsin, and serves as a Vice-Chair for the John S. Leary Bar Association.. His communityservice involvement includes serving as a member of the Board of Directors forthe African American Community Foundation and the Housing Trust Authority Boardfor the City of Charlotte.  He is amember of Pi Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.  Montgomery is a Limited Partner of the GodwinFund Partners, L.P., an equity hedge fund.. In 2006, Montgomery was named as Co-Recipient of theHoward B. Eisenberg Award from the Marquette University Law School AlumniAssociation for recognition of outstanding community service.  During that same year, he was elected to theNCCU Athletic Hall of Fame as a Contributor.
