Goforth, 546 F.3d 712 (4th Cir. 2008)- Pre-trial release of person accused of federal crime)As a former Assistant United States Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, Mr. Winiker prosecuted a wide variety of federal crimes, represented federal agencies in civil litigation, and was responsible for tracing and seizing criminal funds nationally and internationally. He served as an Assistant Director for the Cybercrimes section of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Education and coordinated nationwide training on computer forensics, internet fraud, and computerized courtroom presentations and discovery management.Mr. Winiker is also a former Assistant District Attorney with the Charlotte Mecklenburg District Attorney’s Office.He is a graduate of Wake Forest University – Gonzaga University School of Law, cum laude – and is a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Persian Gulf War.
