Laura Kenney is an attorney and partner with the law firm of Kenney & McDonough, P.A. Laura graduated with an Honors Degree in Sociology from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario Canada before going on to receive a post graduate degree in Public Relations from Humber College in Toronto. From there, Laura attended and graduated from Albany Law School in New York. During her time at Albany Law, Laura dedicated herself to representing clients in the law school’s prestigious Law Clinic & Justice Center with a practice order from the highest court in New York. In addition, Laura focused on trial practice and competed in her school’s Senior Prize trial competition.. Upon graduation Laura relocated to South Florida and took at position at the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office. During her service as an Assistant State Attorney, Laura worked her way up through the office prosecuting hundreds of cases including misdemeanor crimes and domestic violence cases in county court, juvenile offenses from misdemeanors to life felonies and serious adult felony cases. Laura was then appointed to the specialized position of Juvenile Sex Crimes prosecutor in both juvenile and adult court. Before leaving the State Attorney’s office to join her partner Megan McDonough in private practice; Laura spent her last year as a prosecutor working on felony domestic violence offenses.. Laura is a zealous advocate and experienced trial attorney with a unique understanding of the inner workings of the criminal justice system.
