I have been a practicing attorney for 18 years.  A large portion of my practice throughout my career has been criminal and municipal law.. The criminal defense portion of my practice includes repesenting individuals on misdemeanor matters such as DUI/DWI/OVI's, traffic matters and all other misdemeanor charges and representing indivduals on various felony charges.. The criminal prosecution portion of my practice includes currently serving as Prosecutor for the City of Broadview Heights and Prosecutor for the Village of Newburgh Heights.. My municipal practices has included the following:. City of Broadview Heights-Law Director and Prosecutor 2003-present. City of Newburgh Heights-Prosecutor 2011-present. Village of Walton Hills-Law Director and Prosecutor 2002-2004. City of Brunswick-Acting Law Director 2003. Village of Walton Hills-Assistant Law Director and Assistant Prosecutor 1998-2002. In the past 18 years I have handled thousands of criminal matters as both a defense attorney and prosecutor, especially in the area of DUI/DWI/OVI.. I an a regular speaker at the Interchange Driver's Intervention Program on the Topic of the Legal Ramifications of being convicted of an OVI (2-3 times per month) and I regularly teach an Economic Crime Program though Interchange for those convicted of economic crimes. I have also taught classes as a faculty member in various areas of the law at the University of Phoenix and Stautzenberger College.. I believe that practicing on both sides of the criminal law table allows me to bring a unique perspective to any given case.  In defending a criminal matter, I know where the prosecutor is coming from, what he is looking for and how the prosecutor is thinking when he is evaluating the strength of his case since I am in his shoes on any given day as a prosecutor myself.  I think that this knowledge is invaluable in attempting to resolve my clients case whether it is by plea bargain or trial in a manner that gives my client the best possible result..
