After law school, she prosecuted child abuse cases for three years and gained priceless courtroom skills. Later, Stefanie pursued a career in maritime law and continued her interest in representing individuals who suffered loss or injury. While working at a maritime law firm in Miami, she gained invaluable experience representing passengers pursuant to the General Maritime Law and crew members under the Jones Act..
