He was appointed to act as legal counsel to the Alabama Board of Polygraph Examiners by Governor Bob Riley. Mr. Wheeles has been recognized by many prestigious legal organizations for his client-centered approach to cases and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements including a $239 million in a firearm defect class action settlement, a confidential 7 million dollar settlement in Fulton County, a $1.25 million verdict in an unintentional gun discharge case, and a $4.5 million verdict from a Legionnaires disease case.
