I grew up in Western New York, graduating from St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in 2000. From there, I attended Colgate University and earned a B.A. in 2004.. After college, I spent two years at a large mortgage lender based in Western NY. I gained experience with numerous types of residential mortgage loans and learned a great deal about finance. I became a lawyer, after a career as a writer, comedian and public speaker for a very simple and profound reason: I'd witnessed a hit and run drunk driver kill my pedestrian father.. Cécile is a native French speaker, who has benefited from a bilingual education between France and the United States. Cécile attended the University of Paris 10, where she studied both the French civil system and the American and British common law systems, with a concentration in International Law (including European Union Law, Public International Law, and Comparative Law). She then had the opportunity to attend Albany Law School as a foreign exchange student.. While at Albany Law School, Cécile clerked with the Environmental Protection Bureau at the New York Office of the Attorney General.
