I was born in Griffin, Georgia.  I attended the University of Georgia where I received a B.A. in History, magna cum laude, in 2007.  I then attended the University of Mississippi School of Law where I graduated in the top ten percent of my class, magna cum laude, in 2010. During law school, I served as a member of the Mississippi Law Journal’s editorial board.. I previously worked with an insurance defense firm in Bluefield, West Virginia for two years.  I remain an active member in good standing with the State Bar of Virginia and West Virginia, in addition to my membership with the State Bar of Georgia.  For four years, I served as the editor of the Aviation Law Section Newsletter and was selected as a Rising Star in Georgia in 2018 and 2019.. I have authored numerous articles including Fixing Faults in the Current Default Judgment Framework, 34 Campbell L. I was born in Gainesville, Florida and grew up in Rome, Georgia. I attended Darlington School, a private day/boarding school located in Rome. I obtained my undergraduate degree from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, graduating summa cum laude, with a B.A. in History. I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2006 and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.. I have one sister , Paige, and a half-brother, Kevin. My mother is the director of student support services at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. My father is a physician.

I was born and raised in Atlanta.  After graduating from Georgia State Law School, I began my 5-year career as an Assistant District Attorney.  The first 3 years were in the Coweta judicial circuit where I handled cases in Carroll, Coweta, Heard, Meriwether and Troup Counties.  In 2004, I began my two years as an Assistant District Attorney in Cobb County. During my years as an attorney, I have handled over 1,000 criminal cases. I have successfully tried over 40 jury trials to verdict- from Murders to White Collar Crimes to DUI and Drug Trials. Recently I obtained a defendants' verdict for my clients in a four-week jury trial involving claims of accounting fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and RICO. I practice in the areas of general civil litigation, governmental/municipal liability, and workers’ compensation. Specifically, I defend governmental entities and employers in all claims, including personal injury; property damage; Title VII race, gender, retaliation, and religious discrimination; 42 U.S .C. § 1981; 42 U.S.C § 1983 (claims brought under the 1st, 4th, 5th, 8th, and 14th Amendments to the United States Constitution); the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (“ADEA”); the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”); and the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), along with various state law tort claims and claims of state constitutional deprivation. Within workers’ compensation law, I provide human resource managers, safety directors, claims adjusters, and third-party administrators with the tools and know-how to close claims efficiently and swiftly and, above all, minimize exposure. I love being a lawyer and fight hard to  get justice for my clients.  I am a trial lawyer and prepare each case as if it were going to trial.  Most cases do not have to go to trial as a favorable plea bargain is often reached, but I am always prepared for litigation so my clients can get the best possible outcomes in their cases.

I live and practice in Buckhead and love being in Atlanta.  I practice estate planning because I love to help my clients plan for their future and gain peace of mind knowing their families will be taken care of if anything were to happen to them.. When I'm not working, I love spending time doing crafts with my daughter and playing with our two Boston Terriers.  I enjoy bike riding with my family and watching baseball (go Braves and Tigers!)  We also spend a lot of time working on renovating our 1923 English Tudor home.  It needs lots of love!

I knew at an early age that I wanted to help people, but I did not quite know how I could do that. I wasn’t particularly good at building things, and I didn’t feel like I’d make a very good police officer or firefighter. During my teenage years, a friend was wrongfully accused of something.
