Firm: Gallagher Law LLC

Timothy J. Gallagher has 35+ years’ experience as a Trial Lawyer. For the last 25+ years Tim has focused his practice on representing people who have suffered injuries from car crashes, medical malpractice and products liability. Tim has also developed a practice of helping people and other lawyers investigate and litigate insurance coverage issues.. Tim began practicing law in St. Louis in 1988, with Amelung, Wulff & Willenbrock an established Insurance Defense firm where he had the opportunity to learn from highly respected personal injury defense lawyers. Early in his career Tim gained valuable trial and appellate experience which included being on the losing side of the largest personal injury verdict in the history of St. Charles County and winning a case in the Missouri Supreme Court.. In 1996 Tim “switched sides” and began representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases. That career move happened after a jury trial in 1995 with a well-regarded plaintiffs firm. It was a fair trial without any antics. The opposing lawyer was impressed by Tim’s skills and professionalism, so after that trial that firm recruited Tim to come work for them.. Tim has tried jury cases in the United States District Court in St. Louis and in the Missouri State courts of St. Louis City, and the Counties of St. Louis, St. Charles, Jefferson, Lincoln and Franklin. He has tried and won personal injury jury verdicts of a million dollars or more in three different venues: the City of St. Louis, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County. He has tried and won jury verdicts for more than the insurance policy limits in the City of St. Louis, and the counties of Jefferson, St. Louis, and St. Charles.. In addition to jury trials, Tim has argued appeals before the Missouri Court of Appeals and the Missouri Supreme Court. He has won some cases and lost some cases. But most importantly, Tim has worked to help hundreds of people through difficult times in their lives.. Tim has earned a reputation as a dedicated, compassionate advocate and a creative thinker. Most clients are referred to Tim by other attorneys. Tim believes that one of the highest compliments he can receive is when a lawyer that has been on the opposite side of a case with him refers an injured friend or family member to him.. Tim shared the top of the list for The Missouri Lawyers Weekly’s “Top Plaintiff Lawyers 2008” for his role in winning the largest personal injury verdict in the State of Missouri that year. In January of 2014 Tim and his partner Matt Davis received the Missouri Lawyers Weekly Award for “Most Plaintiff’s Verdicts or Judgments” for the year of 2013.. In addition to his practice of law, Tim served his community as an elected member of the City Council of Richmond Heights, Missouri from 2002 to 2010. He is an active member of Little Flower Parish in Richmond Heights where he served on the School Board from 1999 to 2002. He was a volunteer CYC coach for his children’s sports teams, when they were in grade school from 1996 to 2011, then a CYC soccer referee. Tim is an avid runner who runs with the Big River Training Team most Sunday mornings.

There are several things I want potential criminal clients to know about me. I have more than 40 years of experience as a criminal defense lawyer in Tennessee and Florida. I represent clients who are being prosecuted or investigated for federal or state crimes. The majority of my practice is spent defending federal crimes, mostly white collar offenses like money laundering, wire fraud, health care fraud and tax fraud but also racketeering and drug offenses. Over the years I have represented some of the largest drug traffickers in the world. My considerable experience has allowed me to earn the respect of the Federal Judiciary, the U. S. Attorney's Office, the U.S. Marshal's Office, and all of the Federal law enforcement agencies (DEA, FBI, ATF, IRS, Homeland Security, etc.) in Middle Tennessee.. If you are a foreign national I want you to know I am extremely knowledgeable in immigration law and I have represented and currently represent a significant number of foreign clients. I am experienced in post-conviction matters including appeals, habeas writs, and the appeal of prisoner's rights issues. Please check my case results and client reviews at my website or on AVVO to get an idea about the quality of my work.

Since law is a profession rather than merely a business, the lawyer's duty to the client is paramount but obligation extends to the Court system, to the public at large and to a system of governance that promotes justice and fair treatment for all.. If I couldn't litigate, I don't know what I would (or could) do.  A semi-serious goal is to try a jury trial in every Tennessee county before I die or retire.  I've got about 80 or so of the 95 counties-- the courthouse pictures that appear at random throughout our firm's web site are part of my jurisprudential safari.. Increasingly, I serve as a civil mediator and enjoy using different skill sets and gray hair to assist parties reach monetary and emotional settlement where hopes of resolution were slight.

I'm a dreamer, creator, and business professional just like you. I love all things creative, yet understand that your property has to be protected. That's where my firm steps in. I help business owners and creatives establish a firm legal foundation to build on their goals and aspirations.. So a little about me. I'm a graduate of the illustrious Women's College at Brenau University where I obtained a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Arts Management. The following year I enrolled at Florida A&M University College of Law where I learned everything from Environmental Law to International Business Law. In 2011, I earned my Juris Doctorate and passed the Florida Bar Exam later that year.. While working with a private law firm, I enrolled at the University of Alabama School of Law for a Master of Laws in Business Transactions where my focus was Business Law, Intellectual Property, and Tax Law. I earned my LL.M. in 2016. Today, I am licensed in Georgia, the Northern District of Georgia, and the U.S. Tax Court, as well as Florida, and a small business owner, just like you.. Before starting my own firm, I worked for law firms with major corporate clients in different fields of law as a litigation attorney. I also worked for a state government entity in the General Counsel's Office. I have experience handling non-jury trials, negotiations and mediations, and successfully conducting motion hearings on behalf of my clients. My knowledge regarding the needs of small business is vast and useful to enterprising women. I hope we can develop a great connection and work together for years to come.

I have been licensed to practice law for over twelve years.  During my career as an attorney, I have experience in estate settlement, estate planning, trusts, and family law.. I am a single mom of three exceptional children (what else would a mom say, right?).  My former husband and I have managed an alternating week parenting plan for nearly eight years.  My children are with me from Friday until the following Friday.. Many attorneys and Judges are critics of the alternating weeks but I know differently.  My former husband and I do not have the most amicable relationship yet we have managed to coparenting our children in alternating weeks.. Our oldest child (7th grade) was asked to take the ACT at the age of 12, he plays Lacrosse and Hockey, he is a member of science club, and he has gone on two mission trips.  Our middle child (5th grade) has received "advanced" in every topic both times he sat for the TCAPs, he plays Lacrosse and Hockey, he has competed in speech competitions, he volunteers for safety duty at school, he earned a spot on the morning announcements at school, and played the role as Senior Regional Sales Manager for the 5th grade biz town program.  Finally, our youngest child (2nd grade) is enrolled in gymnastics, plays soccer, and so far, receives high marks (no grades yet).. I practice family law for Miles Mason Family Law Group, PLC.  Miles Mason has been my mentor and "professor" of family law.  Outside of work, I run the elementary lacrosse program, lead a bible study, and volunteer every Sunday at my church to assign leaders and greeters.. I believe my experience with divorce at the time my children were 5, 3, and 1 has enabled me to bring my insight, wisdom, and guidance into my practice of law.  When I advise my clients regarding a parenting plan, not only do I follow the law, I guide them to address areas of concern other attorneys don't know about simply because they haven't lived it.. Finally, my failures and my successes help define who I am today.  Without failing, one never truly knows success.

I broke some pretty serious news to my wife right near our 1st wedding anniversary. She was pregnant with our first child. She was finally feeling well enough to go out. At that dinner, I told her I was quitting my job and didn’t know if I would have another job. I had talked with my dad about coming on with him but he told me there were no guarantees. He told me I would always have a space to work but “you eat what you kill”. It was either stay where I was and find a way to be content or see what I could make of it with my dad and brother.. I knew I wasn’t happy at my current job though it was a great opportunity—I was representing insurance companies but trying to tell myself I was helping individuals. I was only helping myself. The job almost doubled my previous salary and gave me benefits I only dreamed about (a secretary and an expense account). It took a lot of pressure off of my monthly student loan payment. I quit. I went to the basement of my dad’s office—no windows, not even fluorescent lighting. My dad hooked me up with a computer and said “I can pay you for a little while but I don’t know for how long.” That was all the assurance I needed.. At that point, I didn’t care if I never got paid. I figured there was a way to make it. So I jumped in. I put up my own site (it failed miserably). I tried hustling tickets. I tried criminal defense cases and worker’s compensation. I took more small claims cases to trial than anyone I knew (I also found out there is a limit on how many small claims cases you can file).. My first settlement was a $20,000 case from a client way down in Doniphan, Missouri. My next one was a $1.25 million dollar case that jump-started it all for me. A truck driver was way over hours, omitted log times, and was on his phone at the time he rammed my client from behind in a construction zone. My client ended up dying several months after the settlement—his end-stage renal disease got him. He was a super nice guy who died happily. When I got to the funeral, I saw his wife. She had brand new teeth. She flashed me a huge smile.. There have been plenty of $500 cases littered throughout where we lost money. I have lost trials for clients that people told me I should not have taken and I have won eight-figure judgments for clients. It has been up and down but authentic the entire time. And I have been given access to plenty of mentors who have provided lots of encouragement, including my dad and brother.. Since opening my own trial practice, my team and I have helped all kinds of people. Immigrants from Africa, Mexico, Bosnia, etc…. We have helped wealthy people and poor people. We have helped people whose loved ones’ hearts will never beat again to people with sore backs. All of them have needed assistance and we are lucky enough to be able to provide it. Our staff has grown and includes the most capable, efficient and friendly people we could have. We are proud of what we do for the individuals and families that come to us.. Without a doubt, I know we can help you—by pointing you in the right direction or even by sending you to another lawyer. Our mission is to make sure you get Justice. Whatever that means in your case, our goal is to help you find it.. Our office was opened with one primary purpose--try jury trials for those who need it against insurance companies. We have cases where we are up against 10 or more lawyers on the other side. But we only take cases we believe in and help clients we believe in. We have no regrets about the people we help. We are committed to real results through verdicts--and our results show that.. If you are interested to see if we can help you, please let us know. We are grateful for every opportunity to help someone in need.. Admitted to Practice in:MissouriFederal Court for Eastern District of MissouriFederal Court for Southern District of Illinois
