My sister Carolyn is a bankruptcy attorney in Annapolis.  Two of my uncles were also lawyers.  My youngest daughter, a Harvard graduate, has graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and has been admitted to practice in both Maryland and Pennsylvania. Born in the former Anne Arundel General Hospital on Franklin Street in Annapolis, I have practiced law in Maryland for 36 years.  I have kept up with the evolving practice of family law, and, as an early advocate of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), became one of the first attorneys to earn a Certificate in Mediation from Harvard Law School in 1994.
