I am a native Texan, raised in an East Texas town called Warren. My wife is Tiffany, and we have two young sons named Jaxon and Ford. We live in Kingwood, Texas, and our kids attend public school in the district for which my wife works.. I attended the Warren schools from kindergarten through 12th grade and graduated valedictorian in my class. I then attended Lamar University in Beaumont on an academic scholarship and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's in political science and an English minor.. In 1998, I began teaching and coaching. During the next nine years I taught primarily English and served as head basketball coach and tennis coach in Texas high schools.. In 2007, I quit teaching and began attending the Texas Tech School of Law on a full academic scholarship. In 2010, I graduated summa cum laude, passed the bar, and was admitted to practice law in Texas.. Since then, I have had the honor to work with fantastic lawyers in Lubbock, Beaumont, and Houston, where I have been since 2012. I work for Mark Lanier, who is regarded by many as the best trial lawyer in the nation. I work primarily for our briefing team in the Issues and Appeals section. In that role, I have been fortunate enough to prepare legal briefing in numerous complex matters, including antitrust, general commercial litigation, international arbitration disputes, pharmaceutical and medical device cases, general personal injury, and many more. In many of these matters, I have argued the issues, dispostive and non-dispositive, at the hearing or oral argument.. As a longtime cancer survivor, I know what it is like to look death in the eye. I believe that surviving cancer gave me a faith in God and a strength that makes me fear nothing. In my practice, I never fear a task or opposing counsel, and I always work as hard and as intelligently as possible to further our clients' interests.
I am a native Texan, born and raised in Dallas. I left Texas to study economics at Purdue University and graduated in 2010 with honors. At Purdue, I participated in AIESEC and regularly played in all intramural sports. Also, I attended Bejing Jiaotong University for a semester on an expenses-paid scholarship to study Chinese. Studying abroad was not only educational but also incredibly fun and showed me how important it is to me to travel.. After college, I attended Baylor Law School in Waco, Texas and graduated in February 2014. In law school, I competed in the National Health Care Law Moot Court competition and successfully made a break out of 30 teams across the country. I also competed on the Transactional Law Meet team. Both of these competitions sharpened my advocacy skills I continue to use in my practice. During my first summer of law school, I interned with the Honorable Judge McFarland in the 133rd District Court in Houston, and the internship taught me insights relating to the courtroom I rely on still.. Before starting my firm, I worked at a mid-size family law litigation firm and a defense litigation firm both in Houston.. In my free time, I enjoy traveling abroad to hike and camp, including the Inca Trail in Peru and Patagonia in Argentina. I also had the chance to work on an alpaca farm in New Zealand for six weeks after I took the Texas bar exam, which was a unique way to experience a new culture. I have also been to South Africa, Germany, many Asian countries, and continually look forward to adding more stamps to my passport. Locally, I also appreciate what Houston offers, such as its famous restaurant scene.
I am a native of Longview, Texas, but live in Houston with my wife Lauren. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in 2001 and my law degree from South Texas College of Law in 2005. While in law school, I was president of the Student Bar Association and an academic merit scholar. I served on the law school’s Pro Bono & Access to Justice Board and received the Dean’s Citizenship Award. I served as president and founder of ADR Advocates and I am a Certified Impartial Third Party, who has mediated cases for the Harris County Better Business Bureau and Houston’s family courts. While in law school, I also established Triple Play, an annual charity softball tournament involving Houston area law firms and law schools, benefiting local charities, including the Houston Area Women’s Center.. Since 2005, I has represented hundreds of cancer victims, and their families, from all across our country. I have represented victims of mesothelioma and ovarian cancer, whose fates were unjustly the result of corporate negligence, misconduct, and greed. For more than half a century, asbestos manufacturers hid the truth about the hazards of asbestos in order to maximize profits, which has robbed our families of the opportunity for a happy, fulfilling life and often resulted in the death of our loved ones. While we would hope that corporations would acknowledge their wrongs of the past and fairly compensate families who have suffered at the hands of corporate greed, we continue to see businesses failing to protect consumers, as is clear from the recent revelation that talcum powder manufacturers have known for decades that their products can cause ovarian cancer, yet they continue to choose profits over providing a fair warning.. I have fought vigorously and tirelessly to help mend the emotional and financial devastation suffered by these victims and their families, and I continues to be an advocate for truth and corporate responsibility to help prevent other families from suffering the same fate.. Throughout my career, I has achieved substantial recoveries on behalf of his clients and was named one of Texas’ Top Outstanding Young Lawyers in Personal Injury LItigation for 2013. In addition, my peers in the legal community selected me as a Texas Rising Star for 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018. I am also a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and Houston Young Lawyers Association.
