I served my community for almost seven years as a Magistrate Clerk in Knox County General Sessions. During my service, I learned many procedures, interepretations, and case law when dealing with criminal matters. Knox County Magistrates held probable cause hearings for search warrants and arrest warrants, arraignments for individuals in jail, and set bond for those individuals. MacLean, found here. His chapter is on how prospective jurors' First Amendments Rights to Freedom of Religious Expression are violated when prosecutors strike them from the jury pool because of their religious opposition to the death penalty.  Mr. Lawrence holds a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. He also lived and studied overseas at St. John's College of Durham University in Durham, England, where he studied Moral Philosophy, Systematic Theology, and Islamic Studies.James is an active member of the West Park Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he currently plays french horn as part of the music ministry of his church and has served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. James' wife, Lara is a professional piano player and they have six children, ranging in age from fifteen to twenty-seven.
