He has personally represented more individuals in their disability claims than any other attorney licensed and practicing in Minnesota. During those 27 years, he has either represented or worked on disability claims for more than 100,000 people throughout the United States and at all levels of the administrative process and in United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Early in his career he made a commitment to representing the less fortunate members of our community. James has also represented disabled children, indigent and homeless claimants, those applying for SSI and the mentally ill.. James received recognition in 1999, 2000 and 2001 when he was named a “Super Lawyer” by Law and Politics, Twin Cities Business Monthly and Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine, a distinction fewer than 5% of all Minnesota attorneys receive. I received my law degree from Gonzaga University in 1978. I was hired to teach at the law school for two years before joining Rider Bennett in 1980. After practicing at Rider Bennett and Schwebel, Goetz & Sieben, Tewksbury & Kerfeld was formed in 1994.
