At Vanderbilt,  Mastroianni was awarded the James W. Cuminale Book Award for excellence in the study of Corporations and Business Entities.. An accomplished runner, Mastroianni won eight New York state championships in high school and was part of the Stanford University team that took 3rd place at the NCAA Cross-Country Championships. Since graduating from college, she has competed in seven marathons, including the Boston and New York City marathons. In Nashville, she finished as the 3rd female in the 2010 Country Music Marathon and won the inaugural Nashville Women’s Half Marathon.. Mastroianni currently competes as a member of The Athlete’s House Racing Team, and, in her spare time, she volunteers with Weimaraner Rescue of the South, from which she adopted her dog and favorite running partner, Oliver.
