I am a certified specialist in workers compensation law by the State Bar of California.  I have been representing injured workers to obtain disability benefits and medical care since 1994. My peers have awarded me with an AV (pre-eminent) rating for my advocacy and ethics, and I have been designated a Northern California Super Lawyer.

Elise Sanguinetti is a founding partner at Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Torrijos LLP with offices in Oakland, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Montreal.  Ms. Sanguinetti’s main focus of expertise is serious injury, wrongful death cases, civil appeals and legal malpractice. She exclusively represents plaintiffs in civil litigation, and holds an AV rating with Martindale-Hubbell and has been named a California Super Lawyer every year since becoming eligible.  The last two years Elise was named one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in the Bay Area.. Elise graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.).  She was admitted into the California state bar in 1997. When not in the courtroom, she is a frequent speaker at seminars and writes articles that are featured in various legal publications.  Her copious amount of work has been recognized with numerous awards and honors including the prestigious, Joe Tonahill Award from the American Association of Justice.. Ms. Sanguinetti is the Vice President of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), was the president of the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) from 2015 to 2016, and a past president of the Alameda Contra Costa Trial Lawyers Association.

Deirdre is a Bay Area native and has spent her entire career in employment law, gathering significant trial and appellate experience with workers’ compensation claims. Her practice at Boxer+Gerson is focused solely on representing injured workers at the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board.. Deirdre earned her undergraduate degree from University of California, Davis, where she interned with both the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) and the Women’s Health Initiative national research study — engagements that have given her a unique perspective on health issues that affect today’s workers. At University of San Francisco School of Law, she sharpened her research and writing skills while serving as executive editor of the USF Law Review.

Alex has a B.S. in Finance from San Diego State University and a J.D. from John F. Kennedy School of Law.  Prior to working with Horton, West & Bowman, Alex was a solo practitioner with his firm Bowman Law Offices for three years, and worked at Trutner Law Offices in Livermore for five years. Alex enjoys helping his clients establish a new business, creating diverse estate plans, and helping his client's through a difficult time after they have lost a loved one through trust or probate administrations.
