I'm a shareholder at Gallagher & Kennedy, PA and member of its board of directors. For over 14 years, I have been a tireless advocate for victims of negligent and wrongful conduct throughout Arizona and around the United States. My passionate commitment to the rights of injured or wronged individuals has garnered in excess of $200,000,000 in jury verdicts, arbitration awards, mediation results and negotiated settlements for personal injury, wrongful death and legal malpractice clients. Beyond helping my clients obtain compensation for devastating injuries and personal tragedy, I also assist clients with many of the (often non-legal) details of putting their lives back together and moving forward. From the beginning of my career at the firm in 2000, I was drawn to legal matters that allowed me the opportunity to advocate for individuals who have been harmed in some way through the fault of others. As a member the firm’s highly skilled and successful Plaintiff’s Personal Injury and Wrongful Death team, I gained invaluable experience in high-profile cases at the state and national levels.I am deeply committed to my clients, and my effort extends well beyond the intricacies of any given lawsuit to champion consumer safety issues for greater social impact. While commanding the fortitude, experience, resources and overall fire in the belly needed to take on major manufacturers and institutional defendants, I remain unfailingly sensitive to the human element of each case I handle. I approach my clients as people first, which makes me broadly effective in understanding my clients’ challenges and advocating their causes.
I was born in New York, grew up in LA, and now live in Phoenix. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona and I'm a proud alumni. I enjoy playing and watching sports.. My favorite part of being an attorney is helping clients get the justice they deserve. I enjoy negotiating and resolving fair cliams for my clients and, when all else fails, fighting for them at trial or arbitration.
I not only help my clients achieve fair and full compensation for catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims, but I also try to transform those tragedies into constructive change to prevent similar disasters in the future. That is because I believe as a lawyer it is important to be a positive influence in my community. So my work doesn’t start with a lawsuit any more than it ends with a settlement or verdict.. Catastrophic personal injuries and wrongful death can impact the whole structure of a client’s life, not just finances. I help people who have suffered unthinkable tragedy, but my work goes well beyond financial compensation. I feel a social obligation to do what I can to help ensure preventable injuries and death aren’t recurring tragedies; that work is not limited to the courtroom.. With the support of a large, full service firm with the resources to tackle the most complex and difficult cases for those who have been injured due to the negligence of others, I strive to keep the human perspective in the forefront of my work.. Service should always be at the forefront of a lawyer’s thoughts. To me, a lawyer means advocate, counselor, advisor, and a positive force for needed change.
I have been practicing in Phoenix since 1982, initially working exclusively for insurance companies - either defending their insureds in personal injury cases or defending the insurers themselves in coverage situations or against bad faith claims. After several years I took on a few plaintiffs and then, by word of mouth referrals from clients, my plaintiff's practice began to grow and eventually left little time for defense work. My practice is now split about equally.. My experience from both sides gives me a unique perspective, and one that I believe is very beneficial to clients. I have purposefully remained in a small firm so that your contact is either directly with me or another lawyer with no less than 7 years of experience - your case is not shuffled off to some new associate for "training" purposes.. We don't advertise, and we don't brag - we just work hard for our clients to get them everything they deserve.
I have been engaged in the practice of law for over 20 years, advocating for the interests of injured persons and victims during the entirety of that time. I graduated from The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque with Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1989, after which time I graduated from the University of Iowa with a Masters of Arts Degree in 1993. Following graduate school, I attended Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee, WI, receiving the Juris Doctor (J.D.) law degree in 1997. I first practiced law in New Mexico and have been actively engaged in the private practice of law in Phoenix since 2003. Currently, I hold law licenses in three states: New Mexico, Wisconsin and Arizona. I am also licensed to practice law in Federal District Court for the District of Arizona.Douglas Loefgren. My time spent as a prosecutor allowed me to assist crime victims and to gain a wealth of legal knowledge. After prosecution, I had the privilege of working for a very prestigious valley firm in the field of personal injury law. Combining my civil and criminal experience, I have first-chaired three dozen jury trials, far more trials than most lawyers conduct in their entire career. Currently, I am accepting clients who received injuries from automobile collisions, and those that have uninsured and under-insured motorist claims and insurance disputes. I also handle cases involving injuries from dog bites, premises liability claims, wrongful death claims, and the like. I look forward to the opportunity of putting my experience and knowledge to work for you.
I have a passion for helping small businesses and individuals figure out interesting legal problems and get practical results. I also find great value in helping those who have been injured to regain something of what they have lost. When I'm not working, I enjoy reading widely, being active in my church, and spending time with my family.
I am very much a person who wants to help people. Taking on a defendant in a large case can be overwhelmingly frustrating and difficult unless you're properly represented. My personal commitment toovercoming those challenges and frustrations has helped me create a unique practice - a boutique litigation firm focusing on serious personal injury and wrongful death. In my twenty years of practice I have developed the skill set and resources to handle the larger, more complex cases.
I am passionate about vindicating people's rights, whether in closely-held business disputes (aka, "business divorces"), aviation, personal injury/wrongful death, or intellectual property litigation (including patents). I am down to earth, yet I understand and can communicate about even highly-technical subjects. I practice with utmost integrity and respect for my clients. I'm not here to make my career off of your case -- I am here to solve your problem as efficiently as possible with your full input. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your case with you.. Personally, I enjoy SCUBA diving, equestrian activities, camping, quad riding, and aviation. I have a wife and two young sons who are the light of my life.
