My law practice focuses on legal malpractice defense, medical malpractice defense, health law, and appellate law.. Before joining the Hart Wagner law firm, I worked in a prominent family law firm, where I learned how to navigate challenging issues while being a strong advocate for my clients. During that time, I managed a high-volume caseload and gained invaluable courtroom experience.. I earned my law degree from Willamette University College of Law in 2011. During law school, I was a clinical and research assistant for Professor W. Warren H. Binford, assisting in complex civil litigation and editing law review submissions. In addition, I clerked in a criminal defense practice where I acquired experience in juvenile dependency, Measure 11 sentencing, and Constitutional issues.

My law practice emphasizes personal injury and workers’ compensation law. One of my primary jobs is to take care of my client’s legal hassles, so they can take care of recovering from their injuries. I keep my practice small so my clients get the attention they need and deserve. When a client calls, they talk directly to me. My experience with the law started at the age of 12 when I went to work at my father’s law firm making deliveries to the post office, bank and taking documents to the courthouse on my bike. I grew up going to legal seminars and helping my dad prepare cases. I started practicing with my father in 1988 in Eugene, Oregon, where my primary focus was on helping people who were injured through no fault of their own. In 1998 I moved to Portland. Since then I have worked with Dean Heiling. I continue to practice personal injury and workers’ compensation law. I have been married to my wonderful wife since 1990. She is an oil painting artist.  I have two amazing daughters. My oldest is a Neuroscience major from the Collge of Wooster. She plans on being a research scientist. My youngest graduated from the University of Oregon with a BS in Sociology. She plans on getting her masters in Sociology and then going to law school.. I love cooking, traveling, volunteer work and spending as much time as possible with my family.

My brother Jim and I are pleased to announce the formation of Clifford & Clifford LLC with offices in Kennebunk and Portland. A predecessor firm, also known as Clifford and Clifford, was founded in 1915 in Lewiston by our grandfather and his brother. It existed for nearly a century, until 2000, and included a number of judges and public service oriented attorneys. Mr. McHenry graduated cum laude from the University of
Michigan in 1997 with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. In
2004, he graduated second in his class, magna cum laude, from
Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, where his studies
concentrated heavily on criminal defense. While in law school, Mr.
McHenry was a law review associate editor, and worked as a research
clerk for the Federal Public Defender office in Portland, Oregon.. Mr.
McHenry first joined the Law Office of Michael Levine (now Levine &
McHenry LLC) as an associate attorney in 2004. In 2006, he left private
practice to work as a staff attorney in the Portland office of
Metropolitan Public Defenders, Inc. While there, Mr. McHenry defended
hundreds of individuals charged by the State of Oregon with both
misdemeanor and felony crimes.. Mr. McHenry returned to
private practice with Mr. Levine in August of 2007, and they formed a
partnership, Levine & McHenry LLC, in 2010. Mr. McHenry continues
to focus his practice on all aspects of criminal defense as well as
civil rights litigation.. Mr. McHenry has been a featured
speaker at the Annual Conference of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers
Association on multiple occasions, and is the author of a chapter in Major Crimes and Defenses,
a publication of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He is
a member of the Oregon State Bar and is admitted to practice in the
Federal District Court for the District of Oregon as well as the Ninth

selected by the Oregon Federal District Court as qualified to handle
federal indigent criminal defense cases.

Mr. Matthew J. Steven is licensed by the Oregon Supreme Court to serve as counsel in all of the Courts of the State of Oregon, and is also licensed by the United States District Court for the District of Oregon to serve as counsel in federal court. He graduated with high honors from Iowa State University of Science and Technology in Ames, Iowa, and from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. He clerked for the Federal Defender of Oregon, the United States District Court (Hon. Stacie F. Beckerman), and provided pro bono legal services to indigent people. He has served the courts and community as a juvenile court lawyer, an appellate attorney, and as a public defender. His practice has, until recently, been largely focused on litigation and trial work. He has had an unusually winning trial practice, drawing praise from colleagues, judges, and opponents for his strong work ethic, expansive knowledge of the science of persuasion, and good tactical judgment.

Mr. MacMillan's practice focuses on real estate transactions and a wide range of litigation matters, including property and contract disputes. He has represented and advised, among others, property owners, buyers, sellers, real estate brokers, and homeowners associations. He is approved as a continuing education instructor for real estate licensees in Oregon and Washington, and regularly teaches courses to real estate professionals in all aspects of real estate law.

Mr. Geller has completed the ABI-St. John’s University 40-Hour Bankruptcy Mediation Training Program.  He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Business Litigation Subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s Bankruptcy & Insolvency Litigation Committee.  Mr. Geller has been recognized for his work on behalf of victims of domestic violence and applicants for political asylum, as well as for other public service. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of Congregation Bet Ha’am (South Portland, Maine) from 2007-2013, and continues to serve the Congregation in various capacities.

Mr. Dubois is the managing attorney at the Law Firm of Vogel & Dubois. His main areas of practice are planning for aging and retirement, LGBTQ and non-traditional family planning, Elder Law particularly public benefits law, family trusts, supplemental needs trusts and estate and succession planning. Mr. Allen is the managing partner of Warren Allen LLP. He also heads its real estate department. Megan McVicar is an associate at Hoevet Olson Howes, PC. Megan began her career as a legal assistant in 2002, working on various criminal matters in state and federal court. She joined our firm as a paralegal in 2005, where she continued to provide litigation support, working extensively on cases involving complex discovery issues and providing trial assistance in both state and federal criminal cases.
