I was born into a thinking, working class family. My father, a great trial lawyer, is the smartest man I have ever known. My grandfather was the kindest man to ever walk the planet. He is a 30YR General Motors Union Man who never called in sick a day in his life. I thank them bought for teaching me to understand hard work.. I attended University of Texas and graduated Cum Laude in 2000. I stayed at the university and received a masters in early American studies. I went on to SMU law school and have been practicing since 2004. In my career I am proudest of three things. First, that while always practicing in family and criminal law I have never had a single bar complaint of any kind. I attribute this to always being available to clients and prepared at all times. Second, I went three years from 2010-2013 without a single adverse decision in a family law matter. That included two male custody jury trials and over twenty (20) live hearings on custody or support. Finally, while practicing on over fifty (50) courts and twenty (20) counties I have never been sanctioned or contempted on a single issue. I believe respect for courts and their personnel adds directly to my ability to help clients. In my entire career I have never been one minute late for any court appearance. Because of hard work and trial experience I am always able to help the people of central Texas. Being an honest lawyer matters.. Of all my accomplishments, the one of which I'm proudest happened in 2005 when Alicia Fanning became my wife. She is my best friend and a source of strength and inspiration.

I was born in Houston and grew up in Hallettsville, TX. For several years I lived in Estevayer-le-Lac, Switzerland where I attended L’Institut du Sacré Coeur. I achieved fluency in French and studied international commerce and law. I returned to America and enrolled at Texas A&M University where I got a BS in Agribusiness. I spent the next two years working in the banking industry, and then enrolled in Baylor Law School. While at Baylor Law, I did an internship with the law firm of Cabinet du Kap-Herr in Paris, France. I also served as the law clerk for the 54th district court in McLennan County, TX. I graduated from Baylor Law in 2009. I went to work in Beaumont TX For the Ferguson firm where I practiced Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Law. While at the Ferguson Firm, I tried several cases and obtained many favorable results including $825’000 settlement in an on the job closed head injury, $350’ verdict in a slip and fall case, and a $500’ settlement in a carbon monoxide exposure case. I then returned to Waco and joined Giles & Giles in 2011 where I practice Personal Injury, Criminal, and Family Law. I am married to Sabrina Braus and we have one Daughter named Madlenne and a son Named Dos. I consider myself a sports fan, and I enjoy all sports, but there is a special place in my heart for College and Professional Football. I am also a very poor golfer. I have represented people who have been injured in serious trucking and automobile accidents, babies who have been injured as a result of medical errors at birth, and people who have been injured as a result of medical malpractice and other types of serious accidents.. I am an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School teaching Personal Injury Trial Law.  I have given talks across the country to labor and delivery nurses about the types of medical mistakes that I have seen in my birth injury cases to help educate these nurses on steps that they can take to prevent injuries to babies in the future.
