I help couples resolve their disputes, whether in the midst of divorce or post-divorce issues, with dignity and respect.. Recognizing the value of preserving civility in the legal process, particularly when working with children and families, I have been trained to assist families through divorce using the collaborative law model. In this alternative to litigation through the court system, parties agree to work through their dispute respectfully, to achieve a durable agreement.. Every family is different, and the collaborative model may not fit every individual situation. While I believe changes in family structure are often best resolved by negotiating settlement, I also recognize that sometimes court intervention is appropriate and necessary. I am comfortable in court and will provide zealous representation, when such action is required.

I am a Northwest born-and-raised attorney currently employed at Whalley Law in Fircrest, WA.  My primary practice area is in family law, and I have handled cases in King, Pierce, Thurston, and Kitsap Counties.

Although I concentrate my practice primarily on family law and personal injury I handle a wide range of legal issues. I am licensed to appear in all the Washington State Courts and an active member of both the Washington State Bar Association and Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association.. Hello – my name is Krystal M. Tate. I am a licensed attorney in both California and Washington State.I grew up in Colville, Washington, and graduated cum laude from Whitworth University in 2008 with Bachelor’s Degrees in Creative Writing and English Literature, then proceeded directly into law school at the Seattle University School of Law, where I received my Juris Doctor in 2011 with cum laude honors and a focus in Estate Planning. I was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 2011 at the age of 23.Throughout and after law school, I worked with several civil litigation firms as well as with the Washington State Association for Justice, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the rights of injured people. I then clerked for the Honorable Michael T. Downes, the presiding judge of Snohomish County Superior Court. At Deno Millikan Law Firm, an eight-attorney firm in Washington, I practiced family law as well as the full range of civil litigation. From 2013 through 2016, I practiced estate planning and trust litigation in Los Gatos, California.
