Missing the vibe of the city, she returned to New Orleans and received her B.A. in Public Relations from Tulane University in 2006, the first semester after Hurricane Katrina. Then she went on to receive her J.D. degree from Loyola University College of Law, graduating with a 3.369.. While attending Loyola, Mrs. Potter served on the Journal of Public Interest, Loyola’s Trial Advocacy Organization and represented clients under Professor Cheryl Buchert in the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice. She was selected as a teaching assistant by Dr. JoAnne Sweeny for Legal Research and Writing. As she grew up her curiosity was piqued as to why she could not live with her father all the time. So, while attending law school she decided her focus would be family law and child advocacy. In 2010, Andrea worked for the Honorable Mary Devereux at the 22nd Judicial District Court where she learned divorce methods, community property settlements, co-parenting guidelines including visitation, custody and support, and prenuptial agreements. In 2011, Andrea clerked for the Honorable Nancy Amato Konrad at Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court where she learned the importance of rehabilitation of minors in order to provide them with a chance to become productive members of society. Furthermore, she gained advocacy experience in juvenile criminal defense. Upon entering the legal industry Mrs. Potter joined a New Orleans Firm, Venezia & Associates in 2013. Then she and her husband decided to move to Mandeville, and she opened a family law practice.
