I began my career focused on consumer protection legal work when a mover destroyed all of my furniture and gave me fake insurance information shortly after I passed the bar.  Trying to turn a negative experience into a positive one, I began volunteering as a consumer protection attorney for Legal Services of Eastern Missouri.  I volunteered there full time for several months prior to starting a law practice with a classmate in St. Louis County.  In that firm, my focus was on civil litigation matters and estate planning. I handled primarily consumer protection cases, including auto dealer fraud, home contractor disputes, debt collection defense, and representing tenants against landlords.. I went on to found Flesner Wentzel, a general practice firm in St. Charles, Missouri in 2013.  I continue to selectively handle consumer protection, estate planning, and probate matters, however my primary focus at Flesner Wentzel is family law cases.  For more than five years, I have been helping clients with dissolutions, paternity cases, child custody, and child support matters. Our firm is not afraid to handle complex cases.  We work hard and ask for extraordinary relief when it is necessary.  Our willingness to handle cases that are outside the typical case have lead us to do complicated adoption work, work to get a child back after being kidnapped by family members, grand parents rights and third party custody cases, and LGBT dissolutions of civil unions/divorces.  While no one "wins" in family law cases, my firm and I give clients reasonable expectations and work hard to achieve our clients' goals.. When I am not at work, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, and ecape rooms!

These experiences have equipped her with the skills necessary to negotiate and resolve issues effectively. Ms. Freeman approaches each case with the perseverance and professionalism needed to achieve the outcomes her clients deserve.

First things first, I was born in Cassville, I grew up in Cassville, my family has been here for generations, and, when I wanted to have a family, I moved back to Cassville to raise one. I can't imagine being anywhere else. I specialize in common-sense problem-solving because that's what I believe best deals with local problems. Andy Scholz is a Springfield, Missouri native. He earned his B.A. from Drury University and attended law school at the University of Missouri-Columbia. In 2003, he became a Special Prosecuting Attorney for Attorney General Jay Nixon and worked in the Division of Public Safety. In 2005, he became an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Boone County, Missouri. Throughout his years serving as a prosecutor, in each of his cases, he was strongly committed to the physical and sexual abuse victims and their families. In 2010, Andy and his family moved back home to Springfield, where he focused his practice in family law. To continue his desire to assist families, he joined Rooney McBride and Smith in 2019, where handles family law, guardianship, and civil litigation matters. Andy is involved with several organizations in the Springfield area, including Dynamic Strides Therapy, the Betty and Bobby Allison Ozarks Counseling Center board of directors, and the Bigger Net Income chapter of Business Networking International. Andy served as the 2014 Springfield Family Law Committee Chairperson, and he is a frequent presenter for continuing education seminars on family law topics. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

I am a Springfield Missouri native.  My legal practice focuses entirely on Family Law.  I am one of the very few attorneys in Springfield who has been selected to be in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.  I have been selected by Missouri/Kansas Superlawyers since 2008. Ms. Gilmore also represents children as their Court Appointed Guardian Ad Litem through Jackson County CASA, a non-profit agency, and by appointment in private matters.
