I have exclusively practiced in family law since the inception of my career. I am drawn to this practice area because I love helping my clients through what is often the most difficult time in their lives. Whether a matter is agreed or contested, it is a pivotal event that will have lasting implications on family dynamics. Having come from a divorced home with siblings, I understand the importance of putting children first and keeping their interests at the forefront of every negotiation and court proceeding.. In between advocating for clients, I enjoy traveling, scuba diving, and hiking.

My practice is currently 100% family law. My experience includes probate, civil rights, bankruptcy, consumer law and civil litigation but now I concentrate on family law only. I have practiced in several Washington state counties and now I primarily reprsent people in King and Snohoimish counties. I am fluent in Spanish. Alaina M. Chamberlain graduated from the American University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and the University of Miami School of Law. She was admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey, the State of Pennsylvania and the State of Delaware. Ms. Chamberlain served as a judicial law clerk and mediator for the Family Court of Sussex County for two years prior to joining the law office of Edward Gill.. Ms. Chamberlain currently practices in the areas of family law, simple wills, power of attorney documents and advanced healthcare directives. Ms. Chamberlain also handles dependency/neglect cases in the Family Court of Sussex County. She has been admitted to practice before all Courts of the State of Delaware, the State of New Jersey and the State of Pennsylvania.. Ms. Chamberlain belongs to the Delaware State Bar Association and the Sussex County Bar Association.

Ms. McHugh is a sole practitioner in Frederick and Washington Counties, Maryland, concentrating her practice in matrimonial law and mediation. Ms. McHugh is a court appointed mediator for Frederick and Washington Counties, Maryland and was the “in-house” mediator for the Frederick County Circuit Court from September of 2008 until September of 2012.  Ms. McHugh has also been certified as a mediator by the Maryland Council for Dispute Resolution. Ms. McHugh also practiced in Doylestown, Pennsylvania from 1993-2003, where she also was a family lawyer and served as a court appointed mediator in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, Pennsylvania. Ms. McHugh while living in Southern Maine was also a court appointed mediator in Portalnd, Maine. Ms. McHugh also offers mediation services for guardianship or conservatorship and working with elders/seniors.. Ms. McHugh offers virtual and in-person consultations.. Ms. McHugh received her B.A. (1980) in psychology and her M.A. (1981) in counseling psychology from the University of Connecticut and her J.D. (1992) from Temple University Law School.  Ms. McHugh worked as a psychotherapist for ten years prior to beginning law school in a variety of treatment centers and treatment modalities.  This background, along with her years of experience as an attorney, gives her a unique understanding and approach to the divorce process and mediation.
