I practice family law. I represent great people whose marriages or parental relationships with their children are at risk. As a family law attorney, I am honored to be one of only a handful of certified SC Family Law Specialists in South Carolina (National Board of Trial Advocacy); a Fellow, American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and International Academy of Family Lawyers. I am also rated AV® Preeminent Family Lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell and am honored to be designated as one of SC’s Top Family Lawyers by Super Lawyers.. My involvement with the AAML, SC Family Law Section and ABA Family Law Section have enhanced my law practice greatly. Collaborating with leading family lawyers, experts, authors and judges has taught me many valuable lessons that have benefitted my clients and increased my knowledge about complex family law matters.. Speaking, writing and publishing articles about family law matters has allowed me to delve into important areas such as understanding the valuation of businesses, how to work effectively with forensic business experts, custody evaluators and technology experts from an academic standpoint, and keeps me updated on new family law rulings and experts' methods. Ultimately, this additional work outside of representing parties saves my clients money and helps me better protect their interests.. Use of Technology:. My team and I take a novel approach to technology in the family court arena. When preparing a client’s case, we utilize software to create timelines, strategy plans, alimony projections, child support calculations, asset division tables, and trial exhibits to simplify complex matters and make my clients' positions understandable and more persuasive. We have found this approach provides clarity for clients when we meet to discuss case strategy and next steps before hearings, mediation, settlement discussions, deposition and trial. Many judges have also commented that some programs help paint a clearer picture of the parties and the facts unique to their cases.. Experts & Other Legal Support Professionals:. We work closely with an extensive network of experts and legal support professionals. Providing access to knowledgeable experts and resources is another service that helps us to protect our clients’ interests, financial and personal. I was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. After graduation from Bishop England High School, I moved to Columbia, South Carolina to attend the University of South Carolina and follow my dream of becoming an attorney. While studying at the University of South Carolina, I was a recipient of the Life Scholarship as well as a University Scholar Scholarship as I pursued my studies in Philosophy and English Literature. Upon completion of my undergraduate degree, I became a member of the University of South Carolina School of Law Class of 2010. While in law school, I started my legal career with The Finney Law as the sole law clerk in the office. Through hard work with the attorneys and staff at that firm, I developed extensive litigation experience. Inspired by the legal giants that came before me I graduated law school and immediately began to practice in the areas of criminal defense, civil litigation, and domestic relations. in October of 2014, I made the life-changing decision to start my own practice, The Fajardo Law Firm. Through this practice I have been afforded the opportunity to interact with communities throughout South Carolina and work tirelessly to ensure each person that I represent has his or her voice heard in the Courts. I consistently treat each of my clients with the respect that they deserve and understand the great burden placed upon myself when accepting a client’s case. Whether it be in family court, civil court, or criminal court, I will work my hardest to ensure that you are treated fairly and given the opportunity to have your day in court. I'm a member of the South Carolina Association for Justice, Richland County Bar Association, South Carolina Bar Young Lawyer’ s Division, and South Carolina Small Firm and Solo Practitioner Association. I am licensed to practice in all levels of court in the State of South Carolina as well as in the U.S. District Court and Court of Appeals for the Fourth Judicial Circuit.

Like many of you, I ain't from around these parts... I was stationed here as a Navy pilot, and when I retired, I became a Virginia resident. I think life is good in Hampton Roads. My own small hometown in Kansas has now grown to a bustling population of 331, but it was less urban in my youth! My midwestern family has been farmers and blue collar workers for as far back as we know.. I grew up in farm houses without indoor plumbing. Imagine where the "bathroom" was! Then we moved to a trailor house. I see now that, as far as amenities go, I was about a generation behind the rest of America, but it was not until I went to college, and saw what others had, that I realized how rural and poor we were. I really didn’t care. Still don't. Neither should you.. Nearly everything I know that matters today I learned in church. I learned about service, that God is concerned about hurting people, and we should be too. I learned that we all have a destiny, a “calling,” for which we were born and built to achieve for God’s glory and our personal fulfillment. You have one too.. I attended Oral Roberts University for my undergraduate degree. There I served as a Wing Chaplain and a Resident Advisor and lead missionary teams to various parts of the world in the summers. I became the first person in my family ever to graduate from college.. For the next era of my life, for 20 years, I flew airplanes off aircraft carriers for the U.S. Navy and served as a Naval Officer. I ended my career with more than 200 arrested landings on aircraft carriers. (By the way, do you know the definition of a successful carrier arrested landing? You walk away!) I also served as a squadron Legal Officer.. While serving on active duty, I was able to complete my Master’s Degree, an MBA, from Old Dominion University, working during the days and attending classes at night. When you start from nothing, you need to work hard to change your life. It was here, in graduate school, that I discovered mediation. What if Court was our last option, rather than the first?. Just before I retired from the Navy here in Virginia, I enrolled in law school at Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach on the G.I. Bill. I had planned and waited for this day for nearly 20 years. I did not miss the school’s mantra about the law: “It’s More than a Profession; It’s a Calling.”. At Holcomb Law, we begin with service, with the giving. This is why we offer free information, and a lot of it, in a profession which traditionally guards such information because lawyers should "charge for legal advice.". At Holcomb Law, we recognize that we are here for you, not you for us. We want you to know what to do. It's more than our tagline, “You Matter Here” is how we live and work. It’s not just a law firm, It’s a Calling.
