Matt comes to the field of law from a career as a military policeman in the US Army. After starting as a private, Matt worked his way up the ranks to retire as a major after 23 years of service that included assignments in Texas, North Carolina, and Italy to name a few. Matt commanded one of the first units to respond to the attacks on September 11, 2001 while stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. On December 24, 2001, Matt deployed along with 182 airborne and air assault troopers as commander of the Army’s only airborne and air assault Military Police Company in the world. After returning from Afghanistan, Matt accepted a teaching assignment at The Ohio State University teaching Army ROTC and remained teaching for OSU’s International Studies Department after he retired from the military.. Matt is a January 2012 graduate of Capital University Law School where he earned his JD and was twice presented with an award for best student in his class. After completing law school in just 2 ½ years, Matt finished his LLM in Taxation in May 2012 while studying for the bar exam. Matt was sworn in May of 2012 and has been practicing law ever since.. As a retired soldier and paratrooper, Matt has a particular interest and passion for helping his fellow veterans. I earned my J.D. Degree from Maine Law School in 1992. Since then, I have worked  in private practice, except for the five years I was a judicial officer in the Family Division of the Maine District Court where I presided over family law cases.  I am now back in private practice and feel I have been effective in helping people deal with a variety of legal issues with more flexibility.. I have represented numerous clients in Maine's District, Superior, and Probate Courts, both as an Attorney and as a Guardian ad Litem.  I work with families to set up wills and trusts, special needs trusts, and to address their other estate planning needs.

Prior to opening LoCascio-King Law in 2011, Caitlin was an associate attorney at a mid-size law firm, did contract work for Maine and New Hampshire law firms and was the law clerk at Unum. She earned her J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law and was awarded the Pro Bono Publico Award. While at Maine Law, she was a student attorney at both Legal Services for the Elderly and United States Attorney’s Office and a research assistant on articles published in the American Bankruptcy Review and Loyola Law Journal..
