I have been a practicing attorney in the state of Washington since 1998.  Since that time I pride myself in being a problem solver for my clients.  Clients come to me with a variety of problems and legal issues.  It is my job to help solve those problems and to resolve their issues. Sometimes the answer to the problem is aggressive litigation while other times simple, competent assistance with legal transactions is all that is needed.   Regardless of what type of problem or legal issue you have, I am here to help you solve that problem or issue.. In addition to my legal practice, I have also served as a faculty member for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU).  ERAU is the world's largest, fully accredited university specializing in aviation and aerospace.  My faculty rank with ERAU was an Associate Professor and I taught a variety of legal subjects to include the following: Aviation Law; Business Law; Federal Regulations; Ethics; and the Legal System.. I also served in the United States Military as an Army Aviator and Safety Officer and retired from military service is in 2005.

Jacqueline is a native Washingtonian. Her family has deep roots in Pierce County. Her great grandparents were some of the first homesteaders in the Graham/ Orting area where she grew up riding horses and climbing trees. Jacque’s family instilled in her a strong work ethic that has served her well. When she is not in the office, you can find her spending time with her family. Whether it is spending time with her mother, daughters, brother, niece, step children or extended family any excuse is a good one to spend time with family, share stories and laugh.. Jacque graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a triple major in political science, communications and business economics. She attended law school at the University of Puget Sound (now known as Seattle University School of Law). After law school, and proving to be a glutton for punishment, Jacque went on to receive her LL.M in Taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law where she graduated with honors.

I have been practicing law for over 29 years (30 years this year), most of which has been focused upon family law, including all aspects from starting a family, adoption, custody, separation, divorce, and often handling complex property/ high asset and business issues.  In addition, I routinely handle international divorces and international custody cases, Hague cases, and interstate disputes. I also represent parents in juvenlle cases (dependency and neglect), and guardianship cases.  In my practice, I work to offer a collaborative approach if possible for a case, although I zealously advocate for my clients. I’ve been honored by the Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon by serving as Note and Comment Editor of the Willamette Law Review.. I’ve been identified as a Washington State “Super Lawyer” by Washington Law and Politics Magazine in 2003. I’ve been active in the Snohomish County Bar Association, and in 2010 served as Trustee, being elected as Vice President in 2011, and the Snohomish County Bar President for the year 2012. Since being admitted to the practice of law in 2007, I have been a trial attorney.. I spent my first five years as an assistant public defender in Bradenton, FL, where I more or less lived in a court room. I acted as trial counsel, a division chief, appellate counsel, and a liason to diversionary programs. I had the fortune of trying many jury trials, including mandatory life cases.. In 2012, I started working in civil litigation in Sarasota, FL. I represented plaintiffs exclusively. This time period provided me with very valuable education. I had the benefit of very good attorney mentors who taught me an enormous amount about trial craft, negotiation strategy, and many of the finer techinical points of legal practice.. In 2015, my family made the decision to move to Washington. After briefly practicing on my own, I joined the firm of Deno Millikan, PLLC. At Deno Millikan, I practice primarily in the areas of family law, criminal law, and personal injury. Working with such an experienced group of attorneys with such a broad legal background has allowed me to continue expanding my practice and get the best possible results for my clients.

My favorite cases are pre/postnuptial and co-habitation agreements.  Putting together an agreement like this allows a family to have the hard conversations as a team, rather than as adversaries.  I've found a well prepared family unit doesn't require my services again.. In every case, whether agreed or extremely adversarial, I do my best to see that my client and their family remains as emotionally, psychologically, and financially intact as possible.. In my free time, I'm an avid baker, care-taker for abused and abandonded dogs, and, despite a black-thumb, I hope to start growing herbs. I enjoy spending weekends hosting game nights or hiking with my partner and our dog.

From 2003 to 2006 I attended law school in Michigan. In 2006, I graduated from Thomas M. Cooley School of Law in Lansing.. From September 2006 to September 2007, I was a law-clerk for the Honorable Larry E. McKeeman of the Snohomish County Superior Court. I joined the firm of Tuohy & Minor in October 2007. Shortly thereafter, Deane Minor and Kara Kruse joined law firms and created Tuohy Minor Kruse PLLC. In 2014, I became partner.
