For the past 15 years, Chase L. Andersen has been committed, both personally and professionally, to assisting individuals in need. Following undergraduate school, Chase worked several years in the social services arena as a counselor and then as a social worker. Throughout these experiences, Chase excelled at professionally addressing sensitive matters, advocating for his clients’ rights, and effectively resolving complicated issues.  Chase has worked nearly eight years in the Twin Cities Metro legal community since earning his Juris Doctorate degree (with a Concentration in Litigation and Dispute Resolution) from Drake University Law School.. My practice is limited almost exclusively to family law matters, including divorce, child custody, paternity, third party custody, and child support.  I am committed to providing high caliber representation at an affordable cost, using a family-centered approach to problem solving and strong, no-nonsense advocacy.. I have significant experience working with victims of domestic abuse in proceedings for Orders for Protection, divorce, and child custody.. My immigration practice is limited to working collaboratively with other immigration attorneys to help undocumented immigrant children obtain the necessary court documents for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status.

My professional life became transformed when I learned about Collaborative Practice.  I realized that rather than being part of a system that often further damages family relationships, I could be part of a restorative system.  The Collaborative process helps couples and families transition to their new configuration and pays attention to family relationships by creating enduring and lasting agreements that work for both parties and their children.  My practice is focused primarily on Collaborative family law, mediation, and cooperative settlement, as well as estate planning and appellate work.  I provide a one hour consultation at no cost, often with both parties, to discuss their options and inform them about the value of using the Collaborative process.

Family law issues are as personal as law gets, and I use a personal approach with my clients. Michele's practice is devoted exclusively to family law at the district court and appellate court levels. She focuses on creative, respectful, realistic, and cost-effective solutions that will allow parties to move ahead as healthy individuals, confident in their children's well-being and financial security. Michele graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in 2002 and served three years as a Judicial Law Clerk in Hennepin County Family Court. She is trained in collaborative law and as a mediator and arbitrator under Rule 114.  Michele was admitted to practice law in Minnesota in 2002, Wisconsin in 2003, and before the U.S. District Court-District of Minnesota in 2003.  She was an Adjunct Representation Professor at William Mitchell College of Law and has been recognized as one of Minnesota's Rising Stars.

Matthew K. Steffes is a licensed Minnesota attorney, and is also a member of the Ramsey County Bar Association and the Minnesota State Bar Association.. Matthew received his J.D., cum laude, from Hamline University School of law in St. Paul, Minnesota. During law school, Matthew served as the Managing Editor of the Hamline Journal of Public Law and Policy, a law school ambassador, and a judicial extern for the Hon. Joseph A. Bueltel, in the Third Judicial District in Owatonna, Minnesota. Matthew also received recognition from the Minnesota Justice Foundation for dedication to public service through his pro bono efforts.. In his free time, Matthew enjoys working in his wood shop, fishing, golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
