Understanding Personal Injury Law
Personal injury law allows individuals who have been harmed because of another person's negligence to seek financial compensation. These cases arise when a person or business fails to act with reasonable care and another person suffers injury as a result. Personal injury attorneys represent accident victims and help them recover damages for medical bills lost wages and pain and suffering.
In the United States personal injury claims are governed by state tort law. Victims may pursue compensation through insurance claims or civil lawsuits. Lawyers investigate accidents gather medical records interview witnesses and negotiate with insurance companies. Because insurers often attempt to minimize payouts, legal representation can significantly improve the chances of obtaining fair compensation.
Serious injuries may lead to long term medical treatment disability or permanent changes in lifestyle. Lawyers help ensure compensation accounts for current and future medical costs rehabilitation and lost earning capacity.
Common Personal Injury Cases
- Car and truck accidents
- Slip and fall incidents
- Workplace injuries
- Defective products
- Dog bites
- Medical malpractice

Victims should consider contacting a lawyer when injuries require medical treatment or when insurance companies dispute liability. Legal advice is especially important when injuries cause long term disability or significant financial loss.
How the Legal Process Works
- Initial consultation and case evaluation
- Investigation and evidence gathering

I have helped thousands of victims during my career. Going through the process of helping these victims, I have learned what tremendous hardships people are forced to undergo. This makes me a better lawyer as I have a deep understanding of what these victims must endure, which allows me to present their case more effectively to obtain the compensation my clients deserve.. In such cases, many victims and their families have an extremely hard time coping or trying to cope with their injuries, pain and suffering or the loss of a loved one and the hardships that come with it, such as lost wages and a suddenly very uncertain future - in terms of health and/or how to pay bills and make ends meet. These victims need help and I supply that help by taking on the insurance companies and those at fault to get the victim the compensation he or she deserves. This provides the victim with relief from a major source of stress, so he or she can attend to healing, physically, emotionally and mentally.. I persevere in obtaining deserving compensation for those losses, as well as for medical bills, lost wages, future earnings' impairment, pain and suffering, loss of consortium, loss of love, society, affection, and compensation for vocational rehabilitation.. Example cases. Partial paralysis case with disputed liability and victim's vehicle speeding and tailgating. Multi-million dollar settlement.. Death case with highly disputed liability. Victim's vehicle broke down on a freeway where the victim's vehicle was in the slow lane. Witness saw victim walk into the next lane when victim was struck. Greatly over $1 million settlement. Victim driver speeding vehicle in heavy rain on two-lane roadway, loses control and slams into object off roadway. Highly disputed liability. Settlement $1 million. Car accident causes victim to sustain disc injuries requiring surgeries. Settlement $650,000. Disclaimer: These past case results are not intended to be taken as a prediction or warranty of future results as to your case. Each case depends on its own facts, liability and damages.. I accept cases throughout California--all counties, cities, towns and unincorporated areas.. Some counties served include: Alameda, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Fresno, Los Angeles, Marin, Monterey, Napa, Orange, Sacramento, San Bernadino, San Francisco, San Mateo, San Joaquin, Santa Clara, Sonoma, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Yolo.. When I was in Kindergarten, the little boys would always ask, "Will you marry me?" At five years old, my response was always, "No, because I'm going to college, and I am going to be a lawyer." Being an attorney has always been my calling. As I've aged, this has become more and more apparent. Prior to working at a personal injury firm, I was an insurance defense attorney. Working with my clients is so much more fulfilling because I know that every day I am making a difference in someone's life. Clients hate for their files to remain stagnant, so my goal is to always move the cases as quickly as possible and to ensure my clients know that their case is important to me.. Any result our firm may achieve on behalf of one client in one matter does not necessarily indicate similar results can be obtained for other clients.
