Location: Los Angeles, California I was cut off by a low speed driver on the highway and went to the hospital for 3-4 days with a fractured hip. They had a rental and their personal insurance claims that they don't cover rental vehicles while the rental company is claiming no fault. I can either take my 30k under insured check and get about 5-10k after lawyer and bills or I can go after them personally. They don't live in my state, but I have all the info I need to serve them. I am irate about them lying to the responding officers and got an undetermined fault from the police report which is how the rental company is fucking me over. They didn't even stop and parked 300 yards from the accident and got caught later. Part of me wants to go after them personally due to the fact that they are trying to take 0 responsibility for almost killing me. What would you do? What advice can you lend? It's not about money, it's about integrity. I'm in no rush to collect either so I'm more than happy to let this ride for years if it has to.
