Dealership being a pain

consumer protection attorney Georgia Aug 28, 2026
Location: Georgia. Hey everyone, l'm looking for some advice or help regarding an issue with a car dealership. I purchased a car from a dealership in GA, and a $3,500 warranty/service contract was included in my purchase. I canceled the warranty within the cancellation period, but it has now been months and I still have not received my refund to my bank or a clear explanation of where the money is. I also would like to add even though I kept denying all the extra warranties they were adding they decided to still slip one in thinking I wouldn't notice before the 30 days was up. I've contacted the dealership multiple times and have been told that they need to "trace" the money, but l'm still trying to get documentation showing where the refund was sent and when. Has anyone else dealt with a situation like this or have advice on what steps I should take next? I have already been trying to work directly with the dealership, but I'm considering filing complaints with consumer protection agencies if I can't get this resolved. Please be respectful...l'm genuinely just looking for advice and hoping to get this situation resolved. Thank you! I have been dealing with this since April and they never want to give me the contact information of HR or anyone higher up and I also can't find the information myself online.
