Divorced and lock code

divorce attorney Texas Jul 24, 2026
Location: Texas My divorce was recently finalized. As stated in the divorce decree, I “shall have the exclusive right to the use and possession of the premises until sold.” House is listed for sale. My house had a smartlock and Ring camera system. I tried to change the password on the Ring before the decree was signed by the judge and the Ex threw a fit saying she has a right to the cameras since she’s still on the deed. I relented at that time but now that the divorce is final, does she still have a “right” to watch my security system and my coming and going? Also, can I change the smartlock code to prevent entry by her? Or is this another “since she’s still legally there owner too” that she has a right to the code? Thanks!
