Location: Central Virginia I had an employer tell me that she would pay cash and I can file my own taxes as 1099 or not at all and it would be up to me. She claims on her end she only writes first names of her "employees". Online it says that if I might have been misclassified because I was basically full time. She controlled my schedule and everything we did. I did a lot of side quests for her that I wasn't really paid for. She's the type that only pays you 30 min after close no matter how long it takes you to finish the work load. She also offered to pay some of my coworkers in marijuana. She also had me sign a contract (that we notorized) that said I would get extra pay for my job in percentage to our daily profit, but she did not follow through. After she made me a GM she also wanted me to stop paying myself for inventory runs before and after close. Is there any recommendations on legal action I can take against her? Any recs for lawyers who deal with this? Is it worth going after? (I'm pretty broke)
