Practice Areas: Immigration
All while I was growing up I was convinced that I wanted to be a surgeon. As I grew older and got involved in Mock Trial, my passion for the law began to grow. When I finally started college, I was sure that I wanted to do a double degree--MD and JD. Finally after two years into college, just one year away from graduation, I had a realization. I realized that being a surgeon was not pracitical for my life. My culture and idea of myself as a wife and eventually a mother just did not seem practical for a surgeon. Doing the work that I love and still being able to spend time and support my family is important to me. I feel blessed to have been able to come to this realization at such a young age. Now I am attorney and a wife, and I feel that I made the perfect decision for myself. I love what I do, and I am still able to support my family and make time for them in my life. Every case is a new adventure, and every client has an interesting story to tell.. A big part of my religion is about doing "seva," or service--some kind of service to help others. When I became pasionate about the law, I was excited about how I could use my work to follow in the principles of my religion. Doing seva is a big part of my life, and I am lucky that I am able to do work that I love that is a service to others.. Throughout my younger years I was inspired toward and developed a passion for immigration because of certain experiences. The first experience being that my family was able to help some young immigrant children in our community whose parents got deported by adopting them and filing for their papers. A few years ago they received their green cards, graduated from ASU with honors, and are now working hard to support their families back home. The second expeirence, being very near to my heart, was when I applied to sponsor my husband. Immigration has a very close place in my heart, and being from an ethnic background I feel that I can really relate to my client's situations on a deeper level.. I have always been open to working remotely, and I love to and am happy to travel when needed. Please do not let my location discourage you. Feel free to call me or email me if there is any way that you feel that I can serve you. I enjoy all areas of law, and I hope that this personal tidbit into my life while inspire you to give me an opporutnity to serve you!

My name is Patrick Lacroix. I represent parents, grandparents, children, and adoption agencies in adoption, dependency, severance, and guardianship matters. I also practice immigration law.  In addition to English, I speak Spanish and French.. I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys. Membership to the Academy is offered only after meeting their extensive experience criteria and rigorous screening process.. I earned my B.A. degree from Georgetown University and my J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Arizona Rogers College of Law.. After graduating from law school, I worked for a judge who taught me to always remain focused on the children and the families we serve. I have taken her philosophy into my legal practice and have represented hundreds of children, parents, relatives, and others who seek to care for and protect children through adoption, dependency, probate, and family law matters.. Early in my career, I had the honor of spending five years at a law firm that encouraged the ethical and scholarly practice of family law. The attorneys at that firm instilled in me the belief that I have a responsibility to ensure the families I serve, and the community as a whole, benefit from my counsel. As a scholar of the law, I lecture both locally and nationally on the subject of adoption law and contested adoptions.. I was named one of the top 50 pro bono attorneys in Arizona in 2022 and in 2015 for volunteering to assist hundreds of clients in their legal matters. I am also proud to be a member of the Arizona State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the local Bar Associations, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. I have served as a trustee on several non-profit boards in the field of child welfare.
