His work has led to significant victories for consumers, securing substantial monetary awards, injunctive relief, and institutional reforms in more than one hundred certified class actions, benefiting millions of his many notable accomplishments, Mr. Fineman served as lead counsel in the largest multi-party gift certificate and gift card class action in California history, representing consumers against twenty-two major retailers, including Target Stores, J.C. Penney, and Barnes & Noble. He also played a pivotal role as lead class counsel in Florez v. Linens ‘N Things, Inc., a landmark privacy rights case that resulted in the California Supreme Court's decision prohibiting retailers from collecting personal information during credit card transactions.. Additionally, Mr. Fineman was co-counsel in one of the world’s largest data breach cases, involving Yahoo!, as well as in one of the nation’s largest medical data breach cases against St. Joseph Health System.
