My professional relationships with my clients are hands-on, friendly, and personal. I pride myself on being someone clients can relate to and trust. I encourage clients to call whenever they have questions. I think every client should choose an attorney with whom they feel comfortable, and who gives clear, intelligent answers to their questions. I have tried many cases to juries in numerous Bay Area counties, as well as to judges and arbitrators. I achieve good settlements in most cases, but do not hesitate to go to court when necessary to get what's fair for my client.

Richard C. Bennett cofounded Bennett & Johnson, LLP in 1975. He received his legal education from the University of San Francisco, where he earned his Juris Doctorate, and holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Rick was admitted to the California State Bar in 1974, and has since built a very successful personal injury practice.. If two things can be said about Rick, it is that he treats his clients as if they were his own family members, and that he is at the same time thorough, tenacious, and tough. He is defined by his compassion, respect, and high professional and ethical standards, which are critical to effective legal representation.. Since launching the firm, Rick has successfully arbitrated, tried to verdict, and settled countless cases on behalf of his clients amounting to more than half a million dollars. He rises to the challenge when clients come to him with seemingly impossible cases, including those rejected by other firms for being too expensive or difficult to prosecute. His knowledge, skill, and experience have allowed him to secure some of the highest personal injury awards for cases in Solano, Orange, Kern, Fresno, Santa Barbara, Napa, Alameda, San Francisco, and Los Angeles Counties.. In addition to his accomplishments in his legal career, Rick is also a popular instructor and lecturer in areas of legal education including discovery, professional civility, mediation, trial tactics, traumatic brain injury litigation, and products liability.. I've been practicing law in the Walnut Creek area for the past 25 years. I am a sole practitioner but have the support and associations with other, larger firms to associate on larger cases with my office when needed. I've also handled many workers' compensation cases, and am able to handle both the client's injury case and the workers' compensation case so if they are injured on the job by a third-party, they won't need two attorneys.. My experience includes motor vehicle accidents, motorcycle accidents, bicycle accidents, pedestrian vs. auto accidents, dog bites, trip and falls and slip and fall accidents. My practice has been 100% plaintiff representation for the past 25 years and am familiar with and can help the client obtain the proper medical care, guide them through the process and recover the best settlement possible. If settlement isn't a possibility we are ready to go to trial.

"Being an attorney is the best career in the world. An attorney has the chance to make a real difference in the life of another person. In my years as an attorney I have seen many people whose lives have been derailed by their injuries, who feel that they have no choice, but to live day to day on the sidelines due to their disability. We who have had the privilege of a legal education have an obligation to help, and if we don’t, then nobody’s going to do it.". Rich Gagliano, Esq.
