My termination notice demanded that the accounts be transferred to a different person. Afterward, yet another person claimed authority and threatened me with legal action and personal liability unless the same accounts were transferred to them. That seems to confirm the exact risk that caused me to refuse the original demand. One provider later confirmed that I should not authorize a transfer without knowing the proper recipient and that the company had an established process for recovering access. I have read Sheets v.
