Stephanie Weil always knew she had a passion to help children and families. With both her mom and dad as attorneys, she knew from the time she was a child that she wanted to practice law. Stephanie was initially drawn to family law because her father was a family law attorney for 40 years before he passed. She has fond childhood memories of playing in his conference room while he and his team prepared exhibits for trial. She admired how happy it made her father when he was able to obtain a good result for a client, especially a client who really needed help. Family law is a practice area she feels like she was literally born into.. After Stephanie received her law degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, she was a stay-at-home mom until a divorce forced her to reenter the workforce. As a prosecutor in Florida for almost five years, Stephanie prosecuted thousands of cases from attempted first degree murder to DUI Manslaughter and cases involving Domestic Violence. She was nominated by law enforcement for Florida Mothers Against Drunk Driving 2017 Statewide Prosecutor of the Year, was awarded Polk County, FL Mothers Against Drunk Driving 2016 and 2018 Prosecutor of Distinction and was the first chair prosecutor for over 45 jury trials and 16 bench trials. This gave her extensive courtroom experience that has translated into her being able to litigate the most complex family law cases for families in all circumstances. Her achievements in family law advocacy were showcased when she was voted “Best Divorce Attorney” for “2019 Best of Central Florida" and again when chosen as an "Elite Lawyer 2022" in the area of Georgia family law.. After a family relocation to Atlanta in 2020, she has seamlessly transitioned into Georgia family law practice and has taken on numerous high conflict and high asset divorce and contested custody cases, successfully facing off against some of the toughest attorneys in Atlanta.. [Located in Fulton County in Alpharetta, the law offices of Hastings Shadmehry Wright, LLC are conveniently located between exits 8 and 9 off Georgia 400. Stephanie accepts cases in all metro-Atlanta counties.]

I began my career working at my father's law office primarily handling domestic and/or family law cases. All I had ever wanted to do was to go to trial and litigate, but I realized handling Family Law Matters would result in few trials and even fewer jury trials. To broaden my chances of getting more trial work, I decided to join Gwinnett County's Appointed Lawyer list. At first, I was a little disappointed on the types of cases the magistrate judges were appointing me, so I decided I needed to introduce myself around to other judges in other courts. I went and introduced myself to the judges with Gwinnett County's Recorder's Court, and as a result, begin getting appointed DUI cases left and right. From the start I was hooked. I was so surprised and enthralled at how complicated and vast DUI litigation was, I knew I needed to learn from the best if I was/am to become the best, so I went to every DUI seminar available, received training in administering standardized field sobriety tests and DUI detection, and attended various trial seminars/colleges. As a result I have focused my entire legal practice towards DUI Defense and/or other DUI related cases, and 2011 has been a very successful year. Everyday I am excited to go to work knowing I get to help those who are virtually helpless and the various challenges and the excitement I experience handling those challenges. I am truly blessed to have found a career and type of law I truly love practicing.
